MuchMusic’s NEW.MUSIC.LIVE. Gets the Scoop as Jepsen Makes Announcement with Justin Bieber

Toronto, ON (February 14, 2011) – MuchMusic is first on the scene again as it was announced tonight on NEW.MUSIC.LIVE. that Canadian up-and-comer Carly Rae Jepsen has been signed to Schoolboy Records, the record label of Justin Bieber manager Scooter Braun. Jepsen and Bieber made the world exclusive announcement via a taped video message while Jepsen appeared on N.M.L. with co-host Jesse Giddings. The exciting news was followed by a live phone call from Braun, with a surprise ‘interruption’ from Bieber, who called in to celebrate with Jepsen and the N.M.L. audience.

Bieber recently Tweeted: “‘Call Me Maybe’ by Carly Rae Jepsen is possibly the catchiest song I’ve ever heard lol”, while his girlfriend Selena Gomez followed with “This smile is because of Carly Rae Jepsen. We have not stopped listening to your song girl!”
In town to promote today’s release of her latest EP, Curiosity, Jepsen hung in the MuchMusic studio for an hour-long jam-packed edition of NEW.MUSIC.LIVE. that also featured a red-hot performance of her hit songs “Call Me Maybe” and “Curiosity.”
